WHAT IS STREET MEDICINE?

“Street medicine” is the  practice of providing medical care to unsheltered people experiencing  homelessness in locations like encampments, parks, and under bridges.

OTS volunteers demonstrate this care by providing

• “On the spot” assessment and treatment of acute medical conditions resulting from harsh living conditions
• OTC medical supplies and provision of non-narcotic prescriptions
• building trust through community
• transportation to medical appointments
